Mineral Ridge basketball team had a competitive schedule this past season. Tonight, six schools that were on the Rams schedule qualified for the District Championships in their respective Districts. Three MVAC schools (McDonald, Springfield, and Waterloo) qualified this week. McDonald plays Southern Local at Struthers Field House for the Division IV District Final at Struthers. While Springfield and Waterloo will square off for round 3 at Salem High School for the Division III District at Salem. This will be the rubber match between the two schools.
Other schools to qualify are two future members of the MVAC in Garfield and LaBrae. Garfield, who defeated the Rams in an epic game last week 90-82, will play LaBrae in the Division III Warren District at Warren Harding High School. The last team that the Rams played that is appearing in the District Finals is Rittman. Rittman, who the Rams defeated in early January at Rittman, defeated Cuyahoga Heights and upset the #2 seed Mogadore and #3 seed Dalton to advance in their District Final at Norton High School. Rittman will play #1 seed Richmond Heights for the title today. All games today are at 7 PM.
Good luck to all teams playing for tonight’s District Championships in northeast Ohio.
